Blackpool Airport (IATA: BLK)Newest Review: ... to find their car blocked in. We soon however found the overflow carpark which is much bigger. Basically though its just a big field next to the runway. Again cars are parked pretty randomly as there are no markings as its a field. I have flown from Blackpool airport twice and it so simple. You cannot get lost, end up in the wrong place or not find your gate. The airport is at the end of the M55 and is clearly signposted. At the moment parking is free and when we arrived in summer I was a bit worried because there didn't seem to be any available spaces. The Perfect airport! Very simple airport - you arrive 2 hours before your flight walk straight through the doors - check in desks are straight in front of you, wait to be checked in (sometimes 10 mins other times 30 mins) Get there a little earlier to avoid waiting around the check in. This airport could not possibly be any easier! First time flyers or ... Read the complete review

Blackpool International Airport is a great little airport at the end of the M55, that serves various cities, ski resorts and beach resorts in the UK and Europe. It's easy to get to, easy to get around and has all the facilities you need from an airport, without all the hassle you get from the big city ones, such as Manchester and Heathrow. As someone who is based at the airport for work (I'm cabin crew with one of the airlines) and who uses it as one of many bases for jet-setting, I thought I'd give you an idea of where it is, how it works and why I love using it.
