As a Bostonian and a frequent flier, I feel I must defend my beautiful city. Security at Logan has been lax in the past, and traveling during the winter is horendous due to the location of the airport. There are many weather delays which sometimes result in delays in flights for days. This is not simply a result of the Boston weather, but a chain reaction as a result of problems along the Eastern Seaboard. Second, Boston's Logan Airport battles more fog than any other US airport. I understand that many of the members on this board are from the UK and know the dangers of fog. In most ways, Boston has to be one of the worst airports I have visited. The only pluses I can see that it is very handy if you are staying in Boston (it is like London City being the mmajor airport for London), and hopefully the awful mess as the whole area is reconstructed will soon be over - been going on for over two years now as I95 is routed under the city rather than trailing through it. These roadworks have stretched to the airport where the whole system is being rebuilt. Getting to the airport can be near impossible - on a Friday before memorila weekend the entire city was gridlocked. On a normal day it takes over an hour to travel the last 3 or 4 ...  Read the complete review

Logan International Airport Boston (BOS): Easy peasy and pleasant! (373 words)

Logan Airport is approximately 3 miles from downtown Boston so it is very easy to reach. The airport itself is made up of 5 terminals connected by walkways and free shuttle buses. Most flights from the UK and Ireland use Terminal E. There are clear signs in the terminal so finding public transport and working your way about is easy. There are several options to get to Boston from the airport. The Boston subway, or the T as it's known has an airport station. (A shuttle bus takes passengers from Terminals to the T station.) The fare is about 85c. I recommend using the T for the airport - it's a cheap option and it's only a short trip to central T ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Boston Airport.....a beautiful location (232 words)

I had a wonderful holiday in New England last year, arriving and departing from Logan Airport, Boston. When we arrived, the view over Boston was stunning. I found the airport itself was easy to navigate once we left the aircraft, and there were plenty of signs explaining the ways to go via Customs, according to nationality. The immigration officials were charming and friendly. I had a car rental to pick up, and was taken there by airport bus. There are a number of rental firms, all in the same location, and very well organised, though I found the queuing rather tedious. Getting away from the airport and Boston is tedious, as the toll tunnel seems to be jammed ...  Read the complete review

This year i travel to boston from heathrow. Arriving at the airport was fine and checkout was fast and easy but the problems started when we were leaving the country. We sat and waited for an hour until they opened some check in desks and for a group of 96 they opened 2 desks so of course it took ages to get through. The process would have been speeded up so much more if we did not have to wait with our bags for them to be scanned as well before we left them. Then after that long wait there was only one hand luggage scanner till open so we had to wait even longer. So even though we got there three hours before the flight we found ourselves running through the airport to ...  Read the complete review
