Advantages: small, lots of destinations

Disadvantages: not much to do in departures

Bristol Airport is located just south of Bristol and is a very convienant regional airport. The airport is serviced by a number of airlines and it has flights to a wide variety of locations in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. You can fly as far away as Cancun, The Gambia or New York. The main flights out of the airport tend to by budget flights like Easyjet to destinations in Europe. I have flown twice from this airport, once to Bratislava and once to Germany. I should note that i haven't flown at peak times, I've normally got the cheapest flight which means leaving at random times so i can't comment on what it is like when its crazily busy.
The airport is not particularly big but there are a very large number of checking desks available, unfortunately these are not always utilised by airlines and you all end up queing at two desks. It always seems to take ages to get through security even when there are only two people in front but that is the same as any airport. Once you are in departures there is not a huge amount of space, there are the usual wetherspoons, burger king, whsmith and coffee outlets with a general seating area in the middle. There are pretty good views of the landing planes from the lounge and pub upstairs. You can either walk to your plane or on occassions you need to get a bus but it is a very small airport so it is not far to go.
Its is very easy but not particularly cheap to get from the airport to Bristol City Centre. The airport bus goes to every major part of town including Temple Meads station. The bus is normally on time and relevantly empty so i would recommend it.
