Advantages: Great canadian Welcome

Disadvantages: Not much space after passport control.

When you approach calgary you will have been treated to a fantastic view of the rockies, then when you leave the plane (if its a charter) you will be greated by a beaming cowboy.

Baggage collection always seems to take an age to appear, and there is not much room for a plane full of passengers trollys.

On Departure, there are lots of gift shops to browse at before you clear customs, but all seem expensive, even with a favourable exchange rate. There is a food court up the escalator with a selection of very good value take away, the Japaneese and chineese booths are especially good if you are very hungary. There is also an Italien, burgerbar and sandwich shop.
Down the escalator is a restaurant, in the style of a little chef, but a lot better value.
Once through passport control there is a very small duty free shop, a kiosk selling sweets and magazines and a coffee bar. There never seems to be enough seats, and the floor gets filled up quickly too.
