Cardiff International Airport (CWL)Newest Review: ... gates all lead off the main lounge so there is no last minute marathon to reach the plane in time. On returning into the airport, passport control, baggage reclaim and customs are speedy affairs (again probably due to the fact that there are not the many arrivals/departures). We have normally passed through within an hour after walking off the plane. Overall I cannot fault Cardiff ... more |

Cardiff Airport is small yet perfectly formed!! If you're looking for a stress free way to start your holiday there's no better place. On-site car parking (within spitting distance of the terminal entrance) is very cheap as long as its prebooked. There is a courtesy bus doing the rounds permanently so you don't have to lug your cases. Check in is one of the speediest and most well-organised of any airport. As there are comparitively so few flights, things seem to run much more smoothly. Before proceeding airside, there is a WHSmith, Travelex and a bar and cafe (including Burger King) . The cafe is an absolute rip-off, but if ... Read the complete review

Cardiff Airport...hum, well I'm actually quite impressed. Perhaps it's because I wasn't really expecting much from it. It's in Barry afterall! Although small, it has everything you need while waiting for your flight which let's face it, isn't a great deal. It has the usual coffee shop, bar, boots, WHS store. What more do you really need? Because it's small if you drive there it means you can park close enough to feel like you have parked at the airport and not in a completely different postcode. Parking costs are reasonable as airport parking goes (which I have to say is most certainly NOT reasnable) at about £20 for 3 days if you pre-pay. ... Read the complete review

I travelled from Cardiff Airport on a trip to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, using the KLM City-Hopper. Whilst Cardiff airport struck me as very small (probably because I'm used to travelling from Heathrow), I found it to be an excellent little airport and my time spent travelling through was definately very pleasant. As far as the range of destinations that can be travelled to, Cardiff is to an extent limited. Aside from the occasional flight to Canada or the USA, all flights are pretty much to the popular European destinations in Spain, Netherlands and Ireland to name a few. I suppose if you are looking for quick European breaks, either for Sun or culture, then ... Read the complete review

My local airport although small it offers everything you need to enjoy your flight. Whether your flying (I will be in August), a planespotter(like me) or wving someone goodbye you have enough there to be alright. It is not like Gatwick or Heathrow which are just superb, but it is very good. But whoops, I missed out something, the transportation links are not at all good, it is fairly out of the way and in the winter there are not much flights.(Actully there is not much sometimes in the summer). bmibaby has increased the number however and they will be adding some more. British Airways have cut down and will be stopping soon. CHECK-IN There are 26 check-in ... Read the complete review
