Advantages: Quiet, Spacious

Disadvantages: Limited range of International Destinations

I travelled from Cardiff Airport on a trip to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, using the KLM City-Hopper. Whilst Cardiff airport struck me as very small (probably because I'm used to travelling from Heathrow), I found it to be an excellent little airport and my time spent travelling through was definately very pleasant.
As far as the range of destinations that can be travelled to, Cardiff is to an extent limited. Aside from the occasional flight to Canada or the USA, all flights are pretty much to the popular European destinations in Spain, Netherlands and Ireland to name a few. I suppose if you are looking for quick European breaks, either for Sun or culture, then Cardiff is perfect, but maybe not so much for people with tastes for the more Long Haul journeys. Having said that, you can pretty much get to anywhere in the World from Cardiff, but you have to go via Amsterdam with KLM.
We parked the Car and left it for two weeks, no problem, we booked this online and there was no real fuss to check this, we were allowed in and allowed out easily. The shops are quite good, they have the necessary WHSmith for example, they also have an ATM which dispenses £5 notes! (Or it did when I used it!). I think I remember seeing a small Games arcade as well, not that that interested me particularly!
The Terminal Building is very spacious, there are windows where the airfield can be viewed and I pretty much got the feeling that there was lots of space incase the airport was to get busy, but it very rarely probably does.
So in summary, if you live in South Wales, or South West England are a looking at travelling abroad, especially to Europe, do not write Cardiff off in favour of Heathrow, you may find that quietness is actually really nice.

Summary: Definately one to Consider!
