The airport lies mainly in the municipality of Tårnby, with a small portion in neighboring Dragør. The airport is one of two main hubs for Scandinavian Airlines System. Copenhagen Airport serves about 50,000 passengers per day. 20.9 million passengers passed through the facility in 2006, making it the busiest airport in the Nordic countries, and number 11 in Europe.

I'll just set the background here: I didn't arrive at this airport on just any day, I arrived the day after the famous Roskilde Festival 2008. Never, have I experienced so much chaos in one place! I'm sure not all the staff at the Copenhagen Airport wanted Roskilde Festival to exist, but the truth is, it is one of the biggest festivals in Europe and so they should invest to be able to deal with the situation accordingly. Arriving at Copenhagen airport, one immediately remarks; "What a nice airport!" The glass is spotless, and allows lots of natural light in, and the floors are made from a gorgeous polished wood. Everything is clean, there is a lot of space, and it is so easy and swift to move through the formalities. I arrived at lunchtime, so it was quite busy, and all the facilities were open and staffed, I can not say how it would be if you were to arrive during the night! Taxis are easy to find, and are similarly expensive to those in London. Most of the drivers have satellite navigation, so will find any address in the region.
