Advantages: Attractive, Light, Plenty of Seating, Lots to do

Disadvantages: Could be an even wider rnage of destinations?

Dubai International is one of a couple of airports worldwide that I would consider to be among my favourites. As soon as you get off the aircraft, the airport is spacious and modern, with clear signs indicating directions and beautiful stained glass windows and arabian type deco. The upper level where the gates are is basically 100% glass, so people interested in seeing out onto the busy airfield, who like to do a bit of plane spotting will not be dissapointed.

There is plenty of seating, so the tired traveller with a couple of hours to kill should not find locating a seat too difficult, which is more than can be said for some of the other gulf airports *cough* Doha..

There are lots of shops, from Newsagents to a large central shop selling locally themed souvenirs (which are pretty high quality). There are also places to eat and a good few Bureau de Change desks. What's particularly interesting is that whenever I have been in Dubai Airport, there always seems to be a fancy car gleaming on a pavillion to be won by visitors, and I think it's quite nice you get given such an opportunity.

There are flights to every continent on the globe more or less and Dubai airport is the hub for a fantastic airline - emirates and will carry the worlds largest passenger aircraft, the airbus A380.

I'm not really sure what else to put, toilets were nice, staff were friendly at both check in and immigration and we had no problems with our bags turning up on the carousels.

The gist of this review is that Dubai airport is pretty much world class and anyone planning on passing through it should look forward to the pleasure!

Summary: Dubai Airport is a treat.
