Advantages: friendly staff, easy to navigate

Disadvantages: doesn't do many long-haul flights

I have travelled abroad quite a lot, several times from Exeter Intrnational Airport (EXT). This airport isn't huge however it has flights scheduled to most of Europe and many other destinations abroad. Flights are also scheduled to other destinations inside the UK.

Exeter International Airport is situated in Devon, a County in the South-West of England. The airport was sold by Devon County Council in 2007 for £60 million, and since then there has been many changes and improvements. There are huge future plans to develop the airport and build a larger new runway so in the future the airport may see far more people pass through it's doors annually.

The first time I departed from Exeter Airport was in 1993 and since then I have seen huge improvements and changes at the airport. The facilities have improved a great deal in the past 15 years that I have been travelling using this airport.

Exeter airport doesn't boast much in the way of entertainment before departing but there is a world news shop, a good cafe overlooking the runway, some duty free shopping and internet access. Some people would find the airport boring and too small, but from my past experiences at Gatwick, Heathrow and Liverpool, I must comment that I prefer this small airport.

I have never had any problems when flying out of Exeter Airport. The worst incident was a one hour delay which is nothing really. At other UK airports I have had to suffer them losing my baggage, staff being rude and lengthy delays of over a day. Exeter Airport is much more peaceful than larger airports and the atmosphere is much more relaxed.

I happen to live 5 minutes away from this airport so it is especially convenient for me. I would recommend the airport to people outside of Exeter aswell though, because being smaller than most UK airports it isn't atall stressful. For older people and families, I would certainly recommend this relaxing airport as a great start to your holiday.

There is ample parking space at the airport, although it is quite expensive. Many taxis service the airport, as do buses into Exeter.

I have enjoyed flying from Exeter International Airport on almost 20 occasions and I will continue to do so in the future.
