I think that one of the best things you can have when you live in a large city, is an airport close to it. Geneve's airport is a very large base with many links to European destinations and it is only 20 min away from the centre of the City if you go by taxi. Arriving in Geneve is always nice, whether you land during the day or at night, since you are bound to fly over the lake with the spectacular back drop of the mountains. Geneve has always been shy to challenge the predomacy of Zurich as the centre for financial activity in Switzerland. As a result, its airport has always been a much smaller affair than the one in Zurich. When Easyjet realized both the financial power of Geneve and its strategic position, a base was installed. Today Geneve airport represents of the European bases for Easyjet and this has driven up passengers numbers. Surely an airport could not be closer to the centre of town. A mere 10 minutes on the train, and you are at the railways station, which is only 10 minutes walk from most everything you care about in Geneve. Taxis ...
