Advantages: Its so so clean!!

Disadvantages: A bit of a trek from Hong Kong itself (but accesible easily)

Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok airport was so clean and well run, it was a refreshing change from some of the other airports I have visited. On arriving in Hong Kong you are directed through arrivals where there were hardly any queues. The baggage collection hall was well signed so you knew where to go and wait. We didnt have to wait long for our bags to arrive. Everywhere you go there are people waiting to help you and direct you should you get lost. The airport is so clean and tidy, and being new it gives it a real sense of space, making it seem as if there isnt many people in the airport (even though its busy). In departures there are a good selection of shops, but be warned the prices are higher than you would pay in Hong Kong itself. We ate at a lovely pizza restaurant and the price was excellent, compared to prices in restaurants in Englands departure louges. This is a really love airport that leaves you feeling calm both before and after your flight!
