Hong Kong Airport Is voted as a 5 Star Airport compare that to London Heathrow's 3 Star's...The airport was built on the side of the island of Chek Lap Kok and was opened in 1998 as Kai Tak had reached capacity and they needed a much bigger airport.
Most European flights are from Terminal 1 including Virgin.
Once you arrive in T1 you have a wealth of facilities including an HSBC Bank, Fashion shops such as Gucci, Jimmy Choo, and a Relay shop which is like a WH smiths but with more souvenirs.
I had a nice ice cream at Ben and Jerries and a meal at Burger King just to get me all filled up.
There's so many more Restaurants in T1 including a few Sushi bars but I only like fish fingers and the odd fish in batter.
There are great entertainment areas within this terminal, and I had a sit down in one of the TV lounges, there's also kids tv lounges aswell as some play areas which should keep things quiet.
The Staff at the airport are all really friendly and always smiling, you have airport staff that are purely there to offer assistance and help on where to find things.
One thing that I found amazing was the Aviation Discovery centre on Level 6 where you can go and fly the planes...You should definitly visit this.
The Terminal seats are quite comfy too and the immigration is very organised with professional staff
