Advantages: Efficient and quick

Disadvantages: Quite a pricey little ticket and even then you are not quite in the center

Keflavik International Airport is Iceland's main airport and the place you are likely to fly into or out of unless you are coming from somewhere like Greenland. I arrived by boat but left by aeroplane, flying with Iceland Express to Copenhagen.

Something that I noticed at this airport was the multitude of flights to the US, the amount of Americans in the airport and the large cars across the country with plates like "big boy" on it hit me that Iceland has a lot of similarities to North America.

The airport has one terminal and it's all very modern and efficient, there is a bank in the departure area where you can get tax back on products you have bought in Iceland. Keflavik airport is about 50km (30 miles) from Reykjavik and the airport is right next to the sea, so you gt a great view when leaving and I imagine it's an excellent place to land as well (if not a bit scary!)

The flybus is the shuttle service between the airport and Reykjavik bus station, the ticket costs 1,500 ISK one way (8.50) and the bus station is not that much of a comfortable walk to the centre of the city if you have baggage but is definitely possible.

Had some food upstairs which considering Iceland prices wasn't too expensive. It wasn't particularly good though either - though I ate it anyway!
