Larnaca International Airport (LCA)Newest Review: ... and Greek Cypriots in 1974. If you would like to visit North Cyprus Larnaca Airport is where you would go, unless you fly to Ercan (this avoids the border, but is a long flight as you have a stop in Turkey). When you fly into the airport there are a few small shops where you can pick up cheap wines and spirits before you go through customs. The staff generally look very surly but ... more |

LARNACA AIRPORT Larnaca Airport is located in central Cyprus. My husband and I visit this airport once or twice a year. Fortunately for us we go in November and March so it is not as busy as during holiday time, so we manage to get ourselves a seat. The airport is small and efficiently run, but lacks enough seating for travellers. I find the airport claustrophobic. The worst part for me is when you have been called to the departure gate. I sometimes feel a bit panicky as customers are packed into a glass box with not enough seating for a full flight of people. There is no air conditioning, so heaven knows how people cope in summer. They ... Read the complete review

I flew in and out of Larnaca airport on my summer holiday to Ayia Napa last year with my boyfriend. Cyprus has two airports Paphos and Larnaca which is in the east of Cyprus and the larger of the two airports. From the UK you can fly into Larnaca from London (Stansted, Gatwick, Heathrow), Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Doncaster Sheffield, Bristol to name a few. Other international flights include Dubai, Moscow, Beirut, Kuwait, also fly into Larnaca airport. Arrivals Arriving into Larnaca airport actually wasn't too bad. I had been warned by a close friend that "the airport is like a corrugated shed" so I had ... Read the complete review

Larnaca International Airport is the airport that I had the fortune (?) to be at twice - arriving from Athens and a week or so later, leaving to Cairo. Cyprus being rather small, you are never going to be too far away from Larnaca, although Paphos airport is better located if you are staying in the west of the island and of course Paphos in particular. The Larnaca airport is a cramped tiny box of an airport with a lot of flights to Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain and the nearby Middle Eastern countries like Israel, Lebanon and Egypt. It seemed to have an awful lot of flights for it's size with not enough seats and queues bumping into each other - I can only ... Read the complete review

I have used Larnaca airport a number of times, as at one time due to my husbands job we were living in Cyprus. I can best describe Larnaca airport as a warehouse with a few slight upgrades. If you arrive early for your check in you will be hard pressed to find a seat to rest your tired bones, but you will find quite a nice little shop where you can stock up on a few sweeties for the flight, but be warned the shop is only big enough for about 3 people so don't take your whole family in to choose goodies. You will also see a few security men standing around looking important, my most scarey exerpiance in Larnaca airport was when the sercurity ... Read the complete review

I've visited Larnaca airport numerous times over the past 8 years and it was improving all the time. It is small and compact and they were making a real effort to improve things. All those efforts seem to have been to no avail. Between October 2002 and April 2003 there has been a rapid deterioration in services. There now seems to be absolutely no encouragement for anybody who is less than able bodied to use the airport. ARRIVING AT LARNACA The passport control speed really depends on what flights have landed ahead of you. These days they don't stamp EU passports and so are much quicker than in the past ... unless you follow a flight from Eastern ... Read the complete review
