The services that run from the station is the Gatwick Express that runs non stop from London Victoria Station which takes around 35 mins, this service is ideal if you want to get there as soon as possible without any hassle. Premium Review London Gatwick Airport (LGW): Gatwick holiday experience (512 words)

London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is one of six airports that serve the London area with the others being Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, London City and Southend. This airport is the second busiest in the UK behind Heathrow and it consists of two terminals: north and south. Be warned that London Gatwick Airport is actually not in London but it is named so to highlight its proxmity to the metropolitan area. It is in Crawley in West Sussex on the London-Brighton corridor. Heathrow and London City airports are the only airports that are really inside of Greater London. I'll start with the public transport as I said before as Gatwick is not ...  Read the complete review

I recently booked a holiday to Dubai with Emirates and managed to get a decent priced ticket via Gatwick North. I've always traveled through Heathrow Airport so I was a little apprehensive. My flight was at 1pm, so we left home a little earlier than we usually would as Gatwick is a little further than Heathrow for us. We had a pleasant journey managing to avoid any traffic. The airport was well signposted and there was plenty of parking available in the car park. The Check In desk was already open when we arrived and there were only 4 other people in the queue so we were checked in and bagless within 10 minutes. It was a great feeling to have the hassle ...  Read the complete review

I have travelled from London Gatwick a few times now and each time has been satisfying. I've flown from both the North and South terminals at Gatwick and both of them are good. The North terminal is more modern than the South however the South terminal has more shops, restuarants and food outlets than the North and from both terminals nothing is too expensive. The staff in both the terminals are very friendly and helpful. Gatwick is the only airport I have witnessed a fire bell at and the staff were very organised and knew exactly what they needed to do. The queuing times at Gatwick used to be atrocious but have improved slightly. I usually queue for Gatwick's security ...  Read the complete review

Unfortunely, living in the north of england, gatwick is a right pain to get to; meaning that i hadn't attempted flying from there in the past, until last week when myself and my girlfriend got a last minute deal with only one airport available! Gatwick! We were pretty downhearted whilst trekking down there; a crash on the dartford tunnel meant that we had to go the "wrong way" around the m25 and the complete journey took us about 3.5 hours, ironically the same time we would actually spend on the plane. However, it all changed for the better from this point. Upon arrival, we quickly walked into the clean, well set out, and easily ...  Read the complete review

I'm a Northerner, so have only visited Gatwick once when we flew to Barbados on Honeymoon. We stayed the night before in the Sofitel which is attached to the airport, and were very happy with the hotel. Gatwick has 2 terminals - North and South, meaning it's pretty big. The terminals are connected by a monorail which runs every 6 minutes and is increased to every 3 minutes in peak periods. The ride itself takes about 2 minutes, so you're never far away from either terminal. We arrived at Gatwick's own train station via the Gatwick Express from central London, and immediately used Virgin's night before check-in service to get rid of the ...  Read the complete review
