London Luton is a horrible airport. I'm surprised it's not famous for it's major hold ups. They always have problems with car parking. The staff at the airport are very unhelpful. Luton Airport is a small but modern airport and it has many shops despite the small sized terminal. You can mainly get easyjet flights from Luton and literally 80% of the check-in desks are for easyjet. The check-in hall is pretty large and long with all the check-in desks. The queues sometimes get very large though in peak-season so you may have to queue for ages depending on how early you get there too. There are televisions above the check-in desks with animated things telling you what to do such as check-in, go to the terminal, go shopping, get something to eat and go to your gate number. There is an arcade as well as a few shops such as HMV in the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review London Luton Airport (LTN): Watch out for hidden 'charges' (374 words)

As small airports go, Luton Airport is a pleasant enough experience. Neat and smart, pretty clean, a good range of shops in the departure lounge and a straightforward experience through on our way on holiday. In terms of the overall experience, Luton gets a thumbs up. What really bugged me however, and would makes you think twice about using it again, are the added charges they try to get away with. To start with, we were charged £1 to be dropped off near the departure hall. For two minutes. Not only is this just plain cheeky, but it means that many people get dropped off down the road and walk up with bags, which not only slows the traffic down, it's just ...  Read the complete review

I have just returned froma trip abroad and I fly from Luton Airport. Luton is most certainly not my ;local airport, in fact I had to drive 100 miles to get there but it offered the best deal in terms of flights and so I flew from there. I was very impressed with the airport. It's fairly small in comparison to it's neighbours Gatwick and Heathrow but that is what I decided made it better than them too. There was no pushing and shoving, hours to check in, hours through customs, hours to collect your baggage. It was quick and easy. When we landed we were out in about 15 minutes and that included collect our bags! No problems finding a toilet like there ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review London Luton Airport (LTN): Luton Airport - small and perfectly formed? (238 words)

As this is our nearest airport we use the airport at least twice a year. It has certainly changed significantly over the past 5 years. The airport has expanded significantly, however not all changes have been for the good. I cannot comment on the quality or price of parking as we always get a lift down there and get picked up. If this option is available to you then use it. The drop off zone is right next to the airport so there is only a short walk to get to the terminal building itself. There are a reasonable amount of shops on the "non departure side" mostly book shops but there are places to get something to eat. However I would ...  Read the complete review
