Advantages: Good airport

Disadvantages: Taxis are expensive

Whenever I can choose a flight from Easyjet from Luton., I select it because I
work within walking distance of Farringdon Tube Station. I take the train to
Luton from Farringdon. It normally takes around 40 minutes and there are
frequent trains. If u go along the same route, make sure you take a train which
stops at Luton airport and not Luton town. If, for ever reason, you end up at
Luton town, you should take the first train back to the airport, there are
frequent services during the day.

Once you arrive at the train station, you will need to pay 1 Pound to take the
shuttle to the airport They depart regularly and it takes 8 minutes to reach
the aiport. If your flight is very early in the morning, particularly if it 2
of you, you may want to check in at the Hotel Ibis, which is 300 metres away
from the airport and offers a room for around 70 pounds for one night. I did
this 3 years ago when we went to Malta on a charter flight which departed at
5am.

Once you arrive at the airport, the check in desks are just on the ground floor, I find the whole area a bit dark and not very cheerful, however, differently from Stanstead and Gatwick, it is less crowded. You then go upstairs and pass through security control, there are up to 5 lines open for control and once you have cleared that, you are in the waiting area. There are few shops to buy food and papers, or the odd piece of clothes.

Due to the fact that Easyjet have progressively moved flights from Stansted to Luton, the latter has seen an increase in traffic. The only drawback is that if you arrive late at night, buses to London are scarce, and taxis very expensive!

Summary: It is a good airport to take off

If you're flying from Luton just on a day trip then it's cheaper to park in the railway car park than at the airport!

I always hear friends flying to and from this airport, though haven't been myself yet. Interesting review. xx
