Advantages: Close to where i live
Disadvantages: Very Small
Luton Airport is strange compared to the other London airports, i visited the airport Yesterday to pick up my dad from his holidays. Now his plane was delayed so i had to wait which is never really a problem because these things happen. But at every other airport there is always something to do, somewhere to eat or somewhere to sit. His plane was delayed by about an hour and i got there early just in case, i decided to go into the airport and waste some time, first i decided to go and get something to eat from Burger King. I ordered my usual order that should take just a few minutes to be put into a bag for me to go and eat, for some reason i was stood waiting to be served for 5 minutes, then it took a further 10 minutes for my order to be got ready. i then asked if i could have some barbeque sauce which normally is free and they charged me 10pence each. I was totally discraced at this especially as the meal already cost £4.59. I then went to sit down to eat my dinner but couldnt even find a table or a chair to sit at. I think they may need to think about either asking people to move on when they have finished or putting more tables in! After eating my dinner i thought i would go and spend some money in the arcade, but i couldnt find one so i carried on wandering around the airport. I know it is not the biggest of aiports but there was only two toilets one of which was out of order and the other was at the other side of the Airport. I decided to give up and go and sit down to wait for his plane to arrive, the only problem was there were no sits free. I thihnk that Luton Airport in comparison with the other airports is a disgrace and they need to think about putting in more facilities to attract Holiday makers toi fly from there instead of from the bigger better Airports!! Let me know of your experiences of Luton airport wheather they are good or bad.

- 23/04/01 I agree with MykReeve about seating and also Burger King... BK is nothing to do with Luton Airport.
I used this terminus to fly to Glasgow and back on Easyjet and found the place generally welcoming, very clean and uncluttered; exactly what you would want from an airport I would have thought. Getting there by train is dead easy and parking is ample IMO. |

- 23/04/01 Sorry about the rating but you seem to say more about bad customer service in Burger King than anything about the airport itself. Should you update please let me know and I'll come and re read it |

- 23/04/01 Sorry for the harsh rating, but I would have liked to have read more about their service record... Do planes generally leave on time, in your experience? Where do planes go to from Luton (short-haul only, or long-haul too)? What are the facilities like for people flying from there? How easy is it to get to? What are parking facilities like? What alternatives are there for eating at Luton?
It does also occur to me that Burger King is a franchise - so Luton Airport can't really be held responsible for the poor service at that fast-food outlet. Lack of seating is a fair comment though!
If you should update this opinion, let me know, and I'll rerate. |
