Disadvantages: No Runway at Stansted

I have flown to Stansted Airport, using either of the popular budget airlines SqueasyJet or RuinAir, on numerous occasions Well both airlines tell me they were flying to Stansted but judging be the walk to the baggage hall we must have landed several fields away!!! Apart from the hike my experience of this airport have been in general positive. Oh, I forgot, positive apart from the time I was strip searched while separated from full view of about 5000 people in the departures area by the flimsiest of curtains. Now what really worried me was that I knew I wasn't a bomb toting terrorist so wot about all the real terrorists getting a free ride through security while the security guys were taking such an interest in my bits!!!
Once I have emerged into the arrivals terminal proper, the choice of train or bus tranfer to Liverpool Street suits my needs well. Jouney time usually being an hour or less on the bus and shorter on the train. The bus and train stations are convenient to the airport unlike the runway!!! Perhaps the plane should land in the bus park. I know there's only one runway at Stansted so you think they would have build the terminal building beside it.
Returning to Stansted for my return trip, you have to get there so early these days, gives security too much time to get into things I would rather they not and, of course, there is that walk. When you get through to the departures area, you naturally think you're there in plenty of time for your flight but if you don't start hiking you might end up at the gate a half hour to late!!! Must find an airport that has a runway nearby!!!
