Malaga Airport, the entrance to the Costa del Sol.
It must be something the Spanish have about airports because Malaga airport is similar to Palma Majorca airport in that you have a long walk from getting off your flight to the baggage reclaim.
On your return flight it isn't always obvious which gate you are leaving from, you need to keep an eye on the monitors.
It is being extended at the moment so like much of Spain it will be OK when it's finished, as long as the walk isn't made any longer.
As with most airports the food isn't cheap, but in departures there is a self service cafe with plenty of seats. Plenty of shopping if that's what you want. The usual booze, tobacco and perfume outlets, and more upmarket shops if you still have any money left. It is normally clean and tidy so no problems there.

Summary: For such a busy airport it is just fine.
