Milano Linate Airport is owned and operated by SEA-Aeroporti di Milano (like Malpensa): www.sea-aeroportimilano.it It has recently been part of a big debate whether all flights should have been brought to Malpensa or not. Alitalia claims that without taking more flights off Linate it cannot create its own Malpensa hub, but at the same time the remaining European competitors claim that by shutting down or taking many flights off Linate, they'd lose a lot of market as well. The debate is still open because after the SAS accident, ENAC (Ente Nazionale Aviazione Civile), Italy's Civil Aviation Authority said that the terminal is in a dangerous position and ... Linate is six miles (10 km) south of the centre of Milan. There is a tourist information office in the central rail station. Taxi fare to the centre will be about 24,000 to 28,000 lira. Travel time will be 20 minutes, but up to 40 minutes during the morning peak travel hours. BUS SEAV buses leave for the Stazione Centrale every 20 to 30 minutes, from 6 A.M. to 11 P.M., but may be available at other times to meet arriving flights. The fare is about 3,000 lira.
