Newest Review: ... or checking our passports the first time! Staff are polite but not particularly over helpful and only a handful speak any English - I believe that when in another country you should try and learn some of the language but I feel in an airport more should be able to speak English to assist you. We have never had a flight delayed travelling to Malpensa or from there to England. They do seem to ... more

We always fly from Luton Airport to Milan Malpensa Airport when visiting our friend in Milan. As they live in the town of Gallarate it is the closest airport to them, just 5-6 mile away. Unfortunately we live in Staffordshire and the only flights with Easy Jet fly there from Gatwick and Luton. Although it is a large airport, it seems to run on a small scale with not many flights going to it. This may be because the other airport is situated closer to the centre of Milan so is easier for tourists The airport itself it around 25 miles from Milan centre, and seems to cater towards the low cost airlines and long-haul flights only. Easy Jet has a dedicated terminal ... Read the complete review

I use Flybe from Birmigham to pass through Milan on my way to Geneva. I am always pleased to have passed through here as there is nothing to recommend the airport. Once through check in I always go straight to the Flybe business lounge so I can pretend I am elsewhere - it is teh ex BA lounge. You can get a drink sandwich and a paper and relax away from the dirtyness of the airport Food choice is limited and not very good, staff is not helpful at best. When you do check in with flybe you are in an annex away from the main area right next to ElAl Israel airlines check in. When this desk is open you will see a large number of no nonsense armed police / army types. ... Read the complete review

Milano Malpensa Airport is owned and operated by SEA-Aeroporti di Milano. It is 50 km from the Milan city centre and by car you take about 45 minutes, unless you go during the peak hours. To get there from Milan you simply take the Autostrada 8 dei Laghi (A 8 motorway), you follow the signs to Malpensa and you exit at Busto Arsizio, you then follow the Strada Statale 336 (SS 336, like an A road in UK) and you then follow the signs to go to Terminal 1 or 2. By train from Milan it takes 40 minutes and a very good Malpensa Express (www.malpensaexpress.it) service operates every 30 minutes from Milano Nord Cadorna station (which is NOT the central station of Milan ... If you put “mal pensa” into altavista’s translation page, and click on Italian to English, it gives you a rather unreasurring “badly it thinks” as it meaning. I know this because yesterday I had a day off work, I’d been to the gym, I’d been shopping, I’d done my laundry and I’d read the paper so, with nothing better to do, I went over to our computer cluster and surfed for a while. Flying to Italy two days after my last A Level exam last year, I didn’t have a choice of airports in Milan – although there are two in the city, BA (and after the previous op, who else would I chose to fly with?) only ... Malpensa airport is situated approx. 40 km to the north east of Milan. It's Milans 2nd airport with Linate being the other. If you get a cheap flight to Milan this is probably the airport that you will arrive at as I did when I flew with British Midland. Although it is the 2nd airport it is large, modern and very efficient. Public transport to the centre of Milan is a breeze as there is a train station and bus terminal inside the airport so you don't even have to go outside. I took the train to Milans central station which cost about £5 (one way only - no return tickets!) and took about 50 mins. The trains were lovely and clean and very fast and quiet - ...
