There's not really much to say about an airport. After all it's not a place one would want to spend along time, just a means of being transported from one destination to another. Next to Tokyo there are two major airports, one is Haneda and the other is Narita. Haneda tends to be used for flights within the country while Narita is used for international flights. While no where near the size of Heathrow, Narita airport is big, spacious and clean. The toilets are cleaned to a high standard, there are a few restaurants and shops but the choice is limited. Shopping is not something I tend to do at the airport. The staff seem polite however one criticism I would have is for the cafeteria. Before boarding my plane I though I would enjoy my last 500 yen sushi set so I went to the cafeteria, brought is to the register and got ready to pay. The problem in Japan is some people just do not know how to react when a foreign customer comes along to pay. The lady behind the counter started doing some strange hand gestures rather that just talk in a normal manner.

Summary: A nice airport

Narita airport is about 60 miles from Tokyo so taking a taxi would be very expensive. You can take the bus for about 3000 yen (around £20) otherwise there's the train. The bus is probably the easiest way.

How easy is the airport to get to? Bus or train? How much would a taxi be from the city?
