Disadvantages: Not always the easiest airport to avoid

Three times I have had the misfortune of having to catch connector flights from newark (not worthy of a capital letter).

The first time was xmas eve 2 years ago. I was enroute form Canada to England. I sat in the airport for an extra 2 hours before boarding due to a delay then finally managed to get on the plane.

This seamed like a step in the right direction until I ended up sitting on the plane for 8 hours only due to weather condition, only to be told that the crew had gone illegal and so we would have to disembark and try to get another flight on boxing day.

Luckily I met someone local and shared a taxi to a different airport where I managed to get a flight home for xmas - thank you Debbie where ever you are!

Two months ago I flew to Boston via yes you've guessed it newark! only to find a 2 hour delay on the way out and a 2 hour delay on the way back.

Delays happen at airports - fact of life. The really anoying part about delays at newark is the fact that they always seam to let you board the plane as though all is well, then as soon as you are locked in they casually mention the delay.

I won't be scheduleing any more flights via this airport in a hurry!
