A great asset to the north east (Newcastle International Airport (NCL))

This is not a fantastic airport but I am not complaining because it is great to have an airport as substantial as this in a city as small as Newcastle. There are a few low budget airlines that fly from Newcastle including EasyJet which runs a lot of routes from here which is very useful. To get to London at the moment it is cheaper to fly from here than to get the train.

The facilities at the airport are alright, there is a Starbucks, Greggs and WHSmiths before you go through security and the same afterwards with a few clothes shops and a tiny curry's. Though there aren't lots of things you don't need too many because ideally you don't need to spend too much time here.

The one problem with Newcastle is that it can sometimes take a long time to get through security and for this reason you probably need to arrive 90 minutes before your flight is due to take off. Despite this, this airport is a great asset to the north east and not an unpleasant experience.

Summary: A great little airport which runs a surprising number of routes
