Advantages: Good base for Tuscany

Disadvantages: 1 hour from Florence

Although Florence is much bigger than Pisa, the airport in Pisa is effectively the biggest in terms of passenger in Tuscany.

You can reach it either by train from the central railway station in Florence, or by bus from Pisa, or even by taxi, since it is a relatively short ride which will cost you no more than 15 pounds.

You can rent cars with all the largest firms at the airport in Pisa, be careful when you return your car, not to drive into the normal park area, since the panels are a bit misleading.

There is a small restaurant if your flight is delayed, but i suggest you buy local food in town which will be much cheaper and tastier.

Ryanair fly to Pisa and you can get good deals if you book in advance. Ba also fly to Pisa, but they are more expensive.

Pisa's airport is a good getaway to the region

Summary: A good place to fly to if you wish to go to Tuscany
