You are travelling to Seoul Incheon Airport? If you're arriving from Europe and not disembarking in Korea itself, presumably it's for some sort of protracted transfer stay between flights? Well in that case there's good news and bad news. It's a lovely airport - clean and bright and well maintained, with good facilities, especially if you're travelling with kids, for there are a number of play areas where the little 'uns can while away the hours. There are bars where you can a little taste of Korea (if you haven't been travelling on Korean Airlines already) in the form of sweet-tasting little dried fish snacks. The transfer terminal waiting area looks out westward, so if you're there in the evening you can see the sun set over distant, exotic-looking low hills, which make you wonder about trying a future visit to the country. The downside you will probably encounter is the apparent incompetence and certainly ingrained utter unhelpfulness of the airport staff (especially those who man the alleged 'information points'), who will first try not to see you, and then, if you succeed in gettting their attention, prevaricate in their attempt to refuse to give you any helpful information whatsoever. Locating the on-airport transfer hotel (approx. £65 a night at Nov 2008 prices) in the massive, multi-floor terminal is, for example a real tribulation as a result and an activity best not attempted when everyones' tempers are already frayed after a long-distance flight. If you're at the airport for a short stay, it should go great. Otherwise, I pity you.
