The airport is 14 miles (23 km) east of the center of Singapore.

Taxis are available 24 hours a day outside the arrivals halls in Terminals 1 and 2. The fare to the city centre is about $20 Singapore dollar with a travel time of around 25 minutes. The fare is slightly higher from midnight to 6 A.M.

If you are traveling light you can take a Singapore public bus. Buses leave from the lower levels of Terminals 1 and 2 for the city centre about every 15 minutes, from 6 A.M. to midnight. The fare is about $2 Singapore dollar. Buses are clean and a good way to get to the city centre if you don't need a commodious luggage rack for your many cases.

The coaches run about every 20 minutes, from 6:20 A.M. to 12:30 A.M. and conveniently drop you off at most downtown hotels. Fare is $5 Singapore dollar and tickets can be purchased at the Airbus counters in the arrivals halls. If you purchase your ticket on board, you must pay with exact change.
