Southampton Airport (SOU)Newest Review: ... Malaga, and Paris. They have both short stay and long stay parking at the Airport, both car parks are past the airport terminal as you drive up to it. Long Stay is reasonable at £9.50 a day, you can turn up or book in advance online. Short stay is extortionate prices, and you're probably much better parking in the train station car park and walking the 2 minutes to the airport terminal. They ... more |

Southampton Airport is owned and run by BAA, the smallest of the BAA airports they run in the UK. Situated on the south coast, with great access from the M3/M27. As you get off Junction 5 of the M27, its a few minutes drive into the Airport. Its also a minutes walk from Southampton Airport Parkway rail station which is on the mainline between London Waterloo and Bournemouth. If you want to get away from the larger airports and all the delays and long check in's its worth considering flying from Southampton. They have a fairly new terminal thats large and spacious, with flights going both to UK and European destinations. Airlines that fly from ... Read the complete review

What a great little airport this is, especially for those of us who'd rather not spend most of our post-check in time walking! The airport is easily accessed by road or rail. There is ample long term parking with free bus to the terminal and Southamptom Parkway railway station is only a short walk from the terminal building. Once inside the building check-in and security are relatively quick and the departure building is light and airy with views of the runways. Snacks and drinks are fairly expensive as they are in most airports but there is a decent range. The duty free shop isn't large but has a basic selection of the goods you'd expect. The departure lounge ... Read the complete review

Fantastic airport. It really takes all the pain out of flying when you go from here. Probably because it is only twenty miles away from my house. When we flew to Scotland we walked straight in, through the security no problems. waited for a while before the flight. But in pleasant surroundings, nice and light. A small coffee shop and vending machines, selling the usual extortionately priced goods but thats often the way. We didn't have to park so I cannot comment on that, but there seemed enough spaces to be had. We were dropped off immediately outside. The mainline has a station virtually in the airport, so is really handy if thats how you are ... Read the complete review

Southampton Airport is Situated only 1 mile from Eastleigh town centre, and adjacent to both junction 5 of the M27 and Southampton Parkway rail station. This is a great little Airport and after flying out of Southampton on a number of occasions I would thoroughly recommended this relaxing start to your journey. Check in and security checks take no longer than five minutes and because it is such a small airport it is only a short walk to the departure lounge. Before the security and check in area there are a couple of places to eat and shop, Aura where you can purchase Starbucks coffee, Delice de France pastries, 'Grab n Go' sandwiches, baguettes and panini. As well as ... Read the complete review

Living, as I do, outside the M25 south-west of London, my choices when flying would appear to focus naturally on either Heathrow or Gatwick. However, neither really enthuse me. I find the whole exercise extremely wearing using either airport, particularly the hassles of parking there although for long stays at Gatwick, Tudor Rose is the preferred, reasonably priced and reliable guardian of my beloved MG. However, although Heathrow is closest, the flight I was looking for, to Leeds/Bradford, wasn't available at anything like what I would have considered a reasonable price. I started searching for the best value I could find and noticed one with flybe from ... Read the complete review
