Jacqui454 Menorca Airport (MAH): ... really is a comfortable, efficient airport. After 11 days sunning ourselves the last thing we wanted was to hang around an airport with little money and a restless, tired 2 year old. What a pleasant suprise we had! The queues really weren t very long but moved quickly anyway. All the staff were polite and helpful and the whole place seemed to run like clockwork. There is a good selection of duty free and gi...

... as possible. Once airside, there is a decent array of shops here from your average duty free to more boutique style shops. They have a lovely deli style food shop for picking up some Spanish delicacies before flying home. It s great but totally overpriced. Restaurants are a little trickier as there isn t really anywhere of good quality. If you want a bad tortilla or chorizo boccadillo you re fine, but anything more substantial and you d better wait until you reach your destination. Bars are well catered for including an English Pub if you re that way inclined. Although never wonderful, Alicante is a good gateway to Spain and I ve never had an ill experience here....

... liked this airport - it was big and spacious and we got our bags quickly when we landed into Alicante for our holiday this year. The toilets in the baggage collection area were clean and our arrival went smoothly. When you arrive if you do not have a transfer booked there are plenty of car hire desks or a suitable taxi rank. People going to the Costa Blanca will travel to Alicante and the nearest resorts are Benidorm, Cala Finestrat, La Manga, El Campello, Alicante City to name a few. There is also a bus every hour from the airport to Alicante city and buses to nearby reports like Calpe and Altea. The bus service is called Alsa and you can find them online and pr...

... use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use. It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km. Arrivals You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few. There are around ten car hire companies who operate out of the airport including the bi...
