Advantages: Easily accesible, quite quiet

Disadvantages: The luggage is easy to get to for outsiders

Toulouse Blagnac Airport is based 8km northwest of Toulouse and has direct access to the motorway which runs north-south making it rather easily accesable.

The airport is rather on the small side, with not too much in the way of shops but enough to keep you alive with chocolate and newspapers. It also seemed to have a rather distinctly empty feeling to it, as did the flight I arrived and left on between Hamburg and Toulouse.

The only thing which really stood out from other airports was the fact that anyone could access the luggage carousel,my father came to greet me at the airport and as people could just walk into the room where the luggage arrived, he had recognised my bag and had already took it. Whilst it obviously saved me the hassle, I thought this was a little bit dodgy and meant that your bag could be stolen quite easily with people just entering the room as and when they pleased!

Flights are a mixture of regular carriers (Air France, Lufthansa, Tap) and budget airlines (BMI baby, Germanwings, Atlas Blue, Jet2), most connections are internal flights within France, connections to Northern African countries (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and even Egypt) as well as other flights to UK, Turkey and Germany. There were several connections to Romania until recently but it seems that they've now finished.

Apart from the aforementioned worry of attainable suitcases, I rather liked the airport - it's fairly modern and not very crowded.
