Advantages: clean, easy to travel

Disadvantages: none for me

I used to fly a lot from Vienna Schwechat International Airport, that's why it is the most familiar airport for me. But when I was flying my first flight ever, I was more than a little scared. I didn't know then what I will do if I get lost, if I miss my plane or something happen with my baggage. But knowing then what I know now, I would not be so scared. Schwechat airport is maybe one of the busiest airports in the Europe, but you will never though so. This Airport is small and you can't get lost there and if so, something have to be wrong with you. :) If I made it, anyone can do it there. But the main reason why you feel so comfortable there because the people around you. No one is in the rush and everyone is just nice and friendly.

***Check-in***
Schwechat airport has 3 Terminals and check-in just can't be easier than there. All you need to do is show them your passport with your ticket. If you purchase your ticket online, it is good to print your information at home and bring them with you. I am not saying it is necessary, but it will just make it easier for you. Employees are just great and if you have any questions about your flight, seat or something else, they will be happy to help you. When you are flying for domestic flight, it is recommended to come 2 hours before you flight. For international flight you should be there 3 hours before.

***Coffee Shops***
It is nice to come a little bit sooner, so you can spend your time in those nice little coffee shops. They are serving cakes, many kinds of coffee and alcohol free drinks. If you are hungry you can order something little like sandwich or toast.

***Shops***
If you like to read and forgot to buy your favorite magazine, there is no problem. Schwechat airport has a huge selection of newspapers and magazines, in many languages and from many countries. So I am sure they will have your favorite one also. After you came through ticket and passport control , you will came to the shops section. My favorite one is of course candy shops with great selection of chocolate. But you can find also shops with clothes, glasses, gifts... and many more. The area with shops is not that big like in other airports, but I think it is enough for you to just kill the time, or buy some fast gifts, if you need something little for someone.

***Gates***
When you have already chocolate in one hand, magazine in another, you are ready to go to the gates. Symbols are big enough for you to read and signs are in both languages (German and English) There is no problem to find your gate ad wait for boarding time.

***Arrival***

When you are flying to the Vienna Schwechat Airport, you will find easy big hall with monitors about information of you flight number, airline and destination you arrive from and you can easy find your baggage. After you find your baggage and no-one is waiting for you , you have many options how to travel to Vienna or somewhere else. At first you can get bus to the center of Vienna or catch the train. If you want continue your traveling to another country, you can catch the bus in front of Arrival hall, where are bus stops for Slovak, Czech and Hungarian buses. There are also many taxis for you to get. You might feel better with rental car and you can get this too in Swechat airport. In arrival hall is office where you can rent a car and be on your own.


Overall: I like Vienna Schwechat International Airport very much, because it is very clean and it is so easy to travel from there. Maybe there is only little to do there, when you have to wait for another flight or your bus to arrive, but I had only great experiences with this airport and will only recommend to use it for your travel.
