Advantages: Free wireless net and plug holes to charge your laptop or electronics

Disadvantages: A bit of a maze, not well sign posted

About two weeks ago, I was flying from Armenia to Latvia and my flight was diverted through Vienna, so I had a couple of hours there. Because I was transferring and my baggage was sent directly to Armenia, there was no need for me to go out and check in again - instead I remained in the departure lounge. The departure lounge was pretty big though and I ended up getting a bit lost, I found the sign posting a bit misleading and the staff seemed awfully surly.

The airport was clean and there was lots of possibilities for someone looking to shopping, as well as lots of cafes serving up what looked like a rather revolting heavy sausage ladened Austrian breakfast. I was only really interested in finding the correct check in desk and getting a bit of wireless internet time. The whole airport had free wireless internet which I thought was wonderful, they also went one step extra by having sections with plug holes where you could charge your laptop. This was a nice touch.

I actually received my boarding card only at the final gate having been and had my things screened on entering a tiny little waiting room just off the main departure lounge for my AirBaltic flight to Riga.

All was good and like I say - the internet and plug holes were a great touch but I thought that the staff could be a little more helpful and also thought that it was a little unclear where I should have gone as a transferring passenger. It was a bit like a maze!
