Canon Smartbase MPC200 Photo ... is an old printer and it shows. it was deisned to work on windows 98/ME and as such xp was an after thought and it takes ages and lots of faffing to install onto xp. I ve not tied it on vista or windows 7. The main problem with this is that every time you change the inks you need to check, clean and reset the nozzles and do a realignment of the print heads or two. Then having done that and recieiving a not too bad printout, you are warned that the ink is now low again! Even with all the aligning the photo prints are poor quality although text is as you would expect. the scaned images are fine on screen and email fine, the software that comes with it is ok, but ... Epson Stylus SX100 ... really enjoy using this printer even if it has a couple of flaws. I ll begin with what are the flaws in my eyes. firstly the noise generated by this printer can be quite loud when readying for printing and not so much when actually printing. Perhaps this will quieten over time when using the printer and it gets a bit more wear. Although it is noisy it isn t bad enough to make me regret buying printer. The second point I think is a flaw is the time it takes to spool a print. It is slow to spool and actually begin printing but once it does it prints fairly quickly. Kodak ESP 5 All-in-One ... bought this printer from a local pc store after seeing the ad campaign about the amazing price of the Inks. However it was nowhere near as good in my opinion as advertised. From the minute I set it up, I experienced very slow prints, nowhere near the 29ppm as advertised. The scanner is useful for the printer, for photocopying and putting photos on pc, however, it was again very slow scanning in a photo. The inks in the printer were the great attraction to buy this. Advertised as lasting 5 times longer than some other brands, yet being much cheaper, it was a no brainer. The only downside to this was that there was 2 cartridges, 1 black, 1 colour.
