Advantages: Ink is cheap, print quality is great

I do encaustic art paintings and sell them at craft fairs. I thought it would be nice to also scan my paintings and make prints of them into greetings cards, so I needed a printer that would offer low cost but high quality prints onto glossy card. I had previously used an Epson printer which wasn't too keen on feeding certain types of glossy paper. I'm pleased to say that the Brother DCP-145C doesn't have this feeding problem at all and I've had no problem when using a variety of different paper types and sizes. The printer works perfect with matte and glossy paper and can accept a variety of paper sizes, up to A4. It can also print onto transparencies, envelopes and coated card. The ink is exceptionally good value for money (especially if you buy compatible brands) and the print quality is excellent. It's not a SUPER fast printer, but it's perfect adequate in that it can print up to 22 pages per minute in colour (for lower quality printing). It's also possible to use the scanner as a photocopier without using a PC - so you can just put the item to scan into the scanner, then press the "colour" button on the printer and it will print a scanned copy for you. Very handy indeed!
