A smart, easy to use budget printer (Canon Pixma MP210)

I picked up this printer a few months ago as Canon were offering £15 cashback (I'm not sure if they do this regularly, as you might want to keep your eyes open for other deals). Anyway, it cost me a total of about £25 plus packaging and posting. I was looking for a small, all-in-one printer for home use - just general letter printing, nothing serious.

The Canon has exceeded my expectations in every way. It looks great, is pretty small and compact (certainly no larger than other multi printers out there) and is light enough to shift around when you need to. It's easy enough to install and set up, although there was no USB cable included, which is a bit daft. Still, we're only talking about a couple of quid extra.

The printing function works well, pages come out fast and there's little or no smudging as the ink dries quickly. The finish for an ink jeft is of a reasonably high quality.

Sacnning works particularly well, with a variety of different dpi setting - I've been scannign in photos and they all come out really well.

I've not tried the photo printing option, so I can't comment, but I would assume that there isn't any problems.

The printer comes with all the relevant editing programs, and although it installs a fair bit on your desktop in terms of icons, they're all usefull and straightforward to use.

I'd have no problems using Canon again for a replacement printer.

Summary: A great buy at the price
