Canon Smartbase MPC200 Photo ... printing (up to): 14 ppm (mono) / 10 ppm (colour) - 100 sheets - USB / The MPC200 Photo is a full-color, fully featured printer, copier and scanner in one compact flatbed unit. This stylish model can print superb-quality photos on both borderless 4 x 6 and A4 media direct from a digital camera card slot.

The MPC200 Photo offers a fast print speed of up to 14 pages per minute (mono) and 10 pages per minute (color). To ensure both speed and quality the MPC200 Photo uses Canon's advanced Microfine Droplet Technology, "true" 2400 x 1200 dpi print resolution and vibrant High Color inks.

This technology also means that the MPC200 Photo is able to offer fast, high-quality color copying, 17 copies per minute (mono) and 10 copies per minute (color). Features such as 25-400% reduction and enlargement, digital copying, mirror copy and image repeat, ensure that the MPC200 Photo gives maximum versatility as a color copier.

For speed and convenience users can print photos directly from all types of digital camera memory cards, without having to connect to a PC. This model will accept various digital camera cards using a PCMCIA adapter, however it comes ready to take Canon compact flash cards. The MPC200 Photo is the only machine in its class that prints and copies using borderless A4 and "4 x 6" formats, giving professional quality output.

The flatbed scanning function on the MPC200 Photo enables versatile scanning of various media including books, magazines, clippings and stapled or bound documents. The 600 x 1200 dpi enhanced resolution is able to pick out the finest of detail on your documents or photos. Multi Photo Mode allows scanning of multiple photos collectively, and will then store the images as separate files.

... to check, clean and reset the nozzles and do a realignment of the print heads or two. Then having done that and recieiving a not too bad printout, you are warned that the ink is now low again! Even with all the aligning the photo prints are poor quality although text is as you would expect. the scaned images are fine on screen and email fine, the software that comes with it is ok, but again is tempremental on xp ( you have to restart the service every print) but the photo copying is let down by what comes out....more

This is an old printer and it shows. it was deisned to work on windows 98/ME and as such xp was an after thought and it takes ages and lots of faffing to install onto xp. I've not tied it on vista or windows 7. The main problem with this is that every time you change the inks you need to check, clean and reset the nozzles and do a realignment of the print heads or two. Then having done that and recieiving a not too bad printout, you are warned that the ink is now low again!
