grainy arty productions or just plain usefulness (Epson Stylus CX3200)

I really wanted a little photocopier. Nothing too flash, in fact the more low-tech the better. I was hoping to find soemthing that would give me the great grainy look of a photocopier, combined with its speed of production. This was all mainly for artisitic reasons. So I bought this printer.

It’s not exactly what I was looking for, because it is too good. There is very little graininess, and it works in a different way to the kind of printer you’d find in a common room or something. It basically scans the thing and then prints it normally, whereas a real photocopier uses some kind of magnetic roller technique I think, and hence the graininess.

Nonetheless, the Canon CX3200 has greatly improved my life, by providing me with a fast way of printing, scanning and photocopying. All these thigns are very useful for me, as I am a student. The photocopying, for instance, means that I can handwrite my essays and still give in a separate copy to my tutor. If you know the right website to get some cheap cartridge (which I’m not sure I’m allowed to advertise here) the whole thing can be a very economical alternative to the hassle of shared computer rooms and inadequate photocopying facilities. And it’s always useful to be able to scan things in onto one’s computer. The only downside is its large size; this shouldn’t be too much of a problem, but it is larger than the average printer if space is a concern for you. Otherwise, get it.
