Advantages: Excellent Print Quality

Disadvantages: Very noisy

I purchased this printer 8 weeks ago, and so far, have found it to be an excellent machine. As well as a very good printer and easy to use scanner, the Epson Stylus CX3200 is also a quick and easy standalone copying facility. I will review all of its functions individually; you will see why I rate it.

Printer: The Epson Stylus CX3200 utilizes the latest print head technology to offer print quality with a resolution of 5760 optimized dpi. The result is very nearly true photo quality output, with crisp, dense blacks and vibrant colours as standard. It also provides instant photo-lab style borderless edge-to-edge printing on media up to A4 size. The ink cartridges for this printer seem to be around £8 - £10 for black and £12 - £18 for official cartridges. I have used the non-official cartridges and have had no problems (£3.20 Black and £3.95 Colour and just as good). I was truly amazed by the photo output, using cheap gloss photo paper, this device prints out photos from my digital camera brilliantly

Scanner: The built-in 600x1200dpi scanner gives you the power to capture documents, photos and other family keepsakes in accurate detail with 48-bit colour. I have had no problem integrating the scanner into my existing graphics and office applications.

Photocopying: The best features include the quick copy buttons that let you use the printer as if it was just a photo-copier. The computer doesn't even need to be switched on to get quick copies in black or colour, you just hit the Copy button and it's simple as that. The quality of the print outs and copies are easily adjusted, with an easy to use scrollable menu on the printer itself or via the software/drivers that come with the printer.

Summary: This is a ideal printer for people who require a all-in-one printing solution at a very reasonable price. It comes complete with one black ink cartridge, one colour cartridge, USB cable, a very detailed guide and very good prin t/scan software and drivers. For around £85, this printer is a good all rounder, but it does have one or two minor flaws. For instance while printing it is a bit noisy (but not compared to the average printer even a year ago), and paper loading is not as smooth or easy as some printers. Indeed it?s best not to load to many sheets in the feeder. I personally recommended only loading the paper in smalli amounts, e.g. no more then 15 to 20 pieces at a time.
The printer itself would not look out of place in a stylish office and is also quite small considering it can scan, print and copy. Although there are a few minor issues with this printer, overall this device is great for any small office or home user. It really is a great buy for the price and you won't find a better option, for small to medium sized printing tasks

Summary: a very good budget all-in 1
