Advantages: Cheap!

Disadvantages: Gets through an amazing amount of ink

The Epson DX5050 is an all-in-one printer, and therefore it has the ability to both print scan and copy. It functions well at all of these, and purchasing the printer at £40 you can't complain.
The print speed is quick, set draft mode it can easily print over 15 pages per minute! However in more detailed modes this speed will decrease, and quite rapidly, it has not been unknown for my printer to take a minute on 1 A4 picture, the picture quality is good, just as long as you can deal with the wait!
The printer itself is very bulky and therefore if space is an issue in your household then this may not be the option for you. However my main issue with the printer is that it simply guzzles ink! And as ink cartridges are hugely expensive for this printer this means that in general running costs this printer will cost you a fortune.
To summarise, if you only occasionally print then this is the ideal printer for you, however if you use your printer regularly then invest a little more in a printer that doesn't love ink so much!
