Advantages: quality affordable ink

Disadvantages: feed the paper accurately otherwise there will be jams

I upgraded my small business printer to an Epson Stylus SX200. I was particularly attracted to the smooth paper feed (I leave about 50 sheets in the top loading paper feed) and the quality good value ink.

In fact very little goes wrong with this Epson, the only small mishap have been with not loading the paper accurately and causing a jam. Following the on screen instructions patiently mean you will not damage the printer- don't just pull the sheet out!

Regarding the ink, the CYMK cartridges are very easy to change. When you press print the software graphics will tell you how much ink you have left in each cartridge so you can literally see for yourself when you need to replace them and then Epson will prompt you to buy them from their online shop. Initially I was suspicious of the manufacturer pushing their own product and assumed it would be more expensive- in fact the CMYK cartidges were £31.28 including post compared to just under £50 in high street shops such as WH Smith and Comets. The cartridges arrived the following day so a very efficient service and cost effective too.

I use the scanner occasionally and the instructions are easy to follow on screen. The resultant scan will appear on your desktop ready for you to save it somewhere in your own system. I find this very useful for digitising receipts for my buisness.

I also use the photocopier occasionally and this is very straightforward with buttons on top of the machine, one for colour and one for black and white. It will allow you to make multiple copies and prompts you on size so it can scan accordingly i.e. is is a piece of A4 (the largest size) or a smaller photograph size (10cm x 15cm).

All in all, an excellent buy for a home office.

Summary: a good cheap printer good for a small business
