Advantages: Cost and multifunctional

Disadvantages: Misfeeds quite easy and is quite 'cheap' looking.

I was in need of a new printer for the study. I looked in Argos and other computer stores for a printer and the cheapest was about £30. Then when I was doing my weekly shop in the local Asda supermarket I stumbled across this little beauty- for under £30! Bargain! However, on reading the box further I noticed that not only was this a printer but a copier, scanner and printer in one. Now I must admit that this isn't the most sophisticated of designs. Its very 'plastic' looking and the paper feeder isn't the strongest of all the printers I have seen, however, for a home study it does the job perfectly! I wasn't looking for a hi-tech device with all the mod cons. I was looking for something I could print the odd letter and document on and the fact that I can scan and copy documents when I needed to was a bonus. This wouldn't be worthwhile for a business or an office where printers are used day in and day out however, for those who would use it like me- every so often and when needed this is a perfect.

The scanner is at the top and has a hinged lid which enables thicker and bigger documents to be scanned with ease.

The printer cartridges are relatively cheap. However, Asda's own cartridges are even cheaper and fit this machine pefectly-about £8 in my local Asda- two cartridges are needed a tri colour and black. So in comparison to Lexmark and Epson printers I found this relatively cheap.

The only thing that I find quite annoying about this printer was that I often need to feed paper into it a sheet at a time if I am printing a longer document as the printer will jam and misfeed quite easily. So just be aware of this if you were to look into buying this machine yourself.

Summary: Perfect for the home study!
