I have had this printer for a few years now and it has never failed. Having had other printers in the past and getting no end of paper jamming and faulty cartridges, the HP Deskjet has been a welcome change. It was really easy to set up, it prints quickly and neatly, and doesn't eat up ink like there is no tomorrow. I have printed photos with ease many times as well, although I have found that if you try to print too many photos in one go, the ink goes a funny orange/red colour (but that's why you can buy actual photo printers!). I use refilled cartridges as new branded ones are very expensive, and they have always worked fine.
The photocopy and scanner functions are brilliant. It is very handy to be able to photocopy at home, although it is time consuming as you have to scan each page individually. The scanner is great for saving documents without hanging on lots of papers, and I have used it to scan old photos onto my computer, which is does really well.
I may well get rid of this printer soon, but the only reason would be to go for a wireless one instead, and certainly not because it is on its way out.
