Advantages: Low price, high quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: Need to plug in USB for scanning
The HP Deskjet F4580 all in one is a great solution for people looking for an affordable wireless printer. This machine is the same size as a standard all in one device and, as you would expect, comes with the ability to print, copy and scan (although you need to use the USB cable to scan).
The Price:
I've been looking for a wireless printer for a while and have toyed with paying up to £150 for one but you really dont need to. Provided you're only using it for day to day printing and the odd photo or two this is perfect. It was £49.98 on Tesco Direct, at the time they had a 'free delivery' promotion on which included free premium delivery (specified time slots). I also had a promotion code for 10% off printers so this cost me around £45 delivered! Can't go wrong for that.
Set up
There is a big manual in the box with lots of languages in it but its really of very little use. The CD is what you want to use. It has very easy to understand step-by-step instructions on unpacking and setting up the printer and establishing the wireless connection as well. The set up seemed to take a very long time for me (around 30 mins, normally if you know what you're doing you can do it in 5-10 mins) but that said it was all up and running perfectly first time.
Looks/useability
It looks, well like a printer, to be honest. Its not the most stylish printer on the market (go for Canon if you want style) but then its by no means is it ugly either.
Its pretty user friendly, the scanner panel is, as you would expect, on the top. There is a control panel on the left side of the top of the printer. There are separate buttons for scanning, copying settings (including re-sizing) and a separate button for black and white and colour copying.
Print quality
The print quality is good. Again provided this is for the average home/home office this is a perfect solution. If you're really into photography the deskjet probably isnt for you, i'd go for the more expensive 'photosmart' series.
Summary
All in all a great little wireless printer. For me, this is a great by from a top brand.
Summary: An excellent wireless all-in-one
