Advantages: Great functionality, easy to use, lots of features
Disadvantages: Fairly pricy, and large size.
Although I wouldn't say Im an expert in the field of printers, I do feel that I have had this particular printer long enough to have gained a decent experience and write a review on it.
The Photosmart 2575 is called an 'All-in-one' printer for obvious reasons, and so it has many functions and tasks that it can perform. It is a printer, scanner and photocopier all in one. This would probably explain its mdeium price range, but for the money I think you can get alont out of it.
As well as doing all three of those functions mentioned, the printer has a few slots for different memory cards, so you can print direct from the digital camera memory card. It also has bluetooth capability, so you can send a picture from your phone or other bluetooth devce directly to the printer and have it printed in seconds.
The printer is quite a large size, but because it is doing so many functions, this can be excused. The printer has its own menu and interface, and this is excellent as you don't always have to interact with the pc its connected to, in order for it to do things. For example the copier part of the printer can be used even when the computer is switched off, the printer can function on its own, something I thought was excellent.
There is a nice pop up screen on the printer which makes seeing its screen and what it is doing alot easier. Particularly for me, as I have this printer at about head level on a shelf, and the screen pops up so I can still see what is going on - fantastic. The buttons on the printer are a good size, and it just feels very easy to navigate around the printer.
As for the quality of printing, well this is where Im not expert and wouldn't know what the benchmarks are. All I can say is that I think it does a fine job, and doesn't consume ink at ridiculous rates either.
I recently tried to print out a photo onto photo card (which incidentally was supplied with the printer) and the quality was excellent, just like a photo you would print from the kiosk!
The printing speed, again no expert, is good and the tray mechanism taking in the paper and printing on it, all works fine.
I would say the printer is relatively noisy, but not anything that stands out, just average for a printer really.
Summary: A fantastic All-In-One printer with a good balance between speed and quality.
