Advantages: Easy to use, reliable
Disadvantages: May seem a little bigger than some of the newer models
I am not a qualified technician in the world of printers, but thought that I would let you all know about the printer that I have sat on my desk at home.
I purchased the 'HP Photosmart 2575 All-in-one' printer for £65 from Currys, which was around 3-4 years ago now. At the time I purchase it, it was on sale and the price had come down from £100. I had never personally gone out and spent that much money on a printer before. Those purchases I would normally leave to my other half, but I wanted a printer for my desk at home so that me and my partner could have a printer each.
So, off to the shops we went! I went to Currys because they had a sale on! (I do like to try and grab a bargain if possible!). This printer caught my eye due to the fact that it was a little bit smaller in size than some of the others and I did like the style of it. As it was on sale I decided it was the one for me!
When we got home I decided to 'fix the printer up' straight away. (I can't wait when I have got new goodies!). When I unpacked it from the box it had all the leads included and a disc to upload the software to the computer.
The instructions were really clear and the set up of the printer was really easy to do. All in all it took about 20 minutes for everything to be set up. The printer came with two ink cartridges (one black and one colour). As soon as the printer was set up I printed out a tester sheet and it worked!
You are able to scan, print and copy with this printer and I have done all these functions. It is easy to do any of these tasks and as you have a pop up screen on the printer, you don't have to have the computer switched on, as all the instructions are on the screen of the printer.
Since first setting the printer up I have not had a problem with the printer. The inks can last over 6 months, dependant on what you are printing. I have printed normal documents including letters and essays, but I also print photographs and they look great when printed, but this can also depend on the quality of the photographic paper you use.
You can buy smaller sized printers now, so this might seem a bit big than those on sale now, but I will keep using it until it no longer wants to go on!
This printer is like a little war horse that sits at the side of my computer and goes into battle with me. A great companion!!!!!
Summary: A great printer that has never let me down
