Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, nice looking
Disadvantages: Photo prints aren't great
I have had this printer for a couple of years now and it has proved itself to be great value for money and very reliable.
I initially bought the printer because it was on offer. I think I paid about £50 at the time. I'd had good experience of HP products in the past so I was confident it would do the job.
First of all it is a nice looking bit of equipment. It is grey and white and glossy all over with a fold up paper tray so you can keep it neatly stored away. I have mine next to my desk on top of my filing cabinet and it actually looks quite attractive!
The print quality is pretty good. HP claim it produces laser-quality documents. Having owned a laser printer previously I don't quite agree with this, but nevertheless it is still good. Colour printing is very good, but the photo printing is not brilliant.
When printing you get the options to print fast draft, fast normal, normal and best. I always use fast draft unless I want really high quality. On fast draft the printer prints very quickly and the quality is fine for everyday use. On high quality it prints at 22ppm for black and 20ppm for colour.
The photocopier is really handy. It saves you having to go to the shop everytime you want something copied! Again, the quality is very good and you have the options to print in 3 different qualities.
The scanner seems to be as good as any other. I don't use it very much but its handy to have it if i need it!
Overall a great little printer for a great little price. If you are looking for top quality photos this isn't for you, but it's perfect for general everyday use.
Summary: After 2 years my printer is still going strong, hasn't broken down once!
