Cheap but not nasty (HP Photosmart C4480 All-in-One)

Advantages: Cheap (for HP) ink, good ink capacity, clear images

Disadvantages: no Wifi

Managed to get this printer for a tenner with a MacBook from Apple's online store.

Firstly I was impressed that ink for this printer is not as expensive as previous HP printers I've owned, I was expecting ink to be expensive as Apple were virtually giving it away... there had to be a catch.

Several months into using the printer and it still hasn't show what the afore mentioned catch is. The printer hasn't jammed once, it's print quality is as good as it gets for under a hundred quid. The scanner function produces good quality images, and the copier is of suffecient standard for our needs.

The printer function itself is used daily. The eldest is constantly printing pictures from her Windows based machine, and the MacBook throws lots of text at it as it's used for university assignments (and several drafts and re-writes.) We're very impressed with how long a colour cartridge lasts, a vast improvement on our last printer.
