Having a printer, copier and scanner in one machine is very handy. It is easy to print a photo directly from the memory-card from a digital camera. Scanning to such a card is easy but to scan directly to your computer requires a cable not supplied with the printer. So I have not tried it yet. The instruction booklet is OK but they never seem to answer the questions like "how to set black as the default for printing"? I've had this printer for less than a year and I am on the 3rd set of 6 x printer cartridges Which represents roughly 1 set every 5 months. N.B. One set comes with the printer usually, plus photo paper. Check the box for ... Read the complete review

I moved to this model when my previous HP printer finally squeaked to a sticky, painful halt. The two-tone grey of the C5180 combine with its solid feel to give it an air of efficient productivity. THE WORD "UPGRADE" REARS ITS UGLY HEAD (AGAIN) The attractions of an 'all-in-one' desktop printer/scanner have up to now proved eminently resistable for me - after all, why put all your eggs in one basket when you can have a printer and a scanner separately, with only one item to replace at a time when push comes to shove? There's also the hint that separates will have higher specification than any 'jack-of-all-trades' in the same way that a digital camera will most likely be better than the camera in a mobile phone. However, time moves on, and having now 'repurchased' my HP Deskjet 5552 several times over in ink cartridges (even cheaper ... Read the complete review
