Advantages: good quality, cheap ink

Disadvantages: high inital outlay, some software problems

I was drawn to this printer thanks to Kodaks claims of much cheaper printing than any other make of printer. The printer itself cost me only £50 when I bought it as it was on a special deal, and came with a full set of ink cartridges included in the box - unusual as most normally only come with tester cartridges.
Installation of software was easy and quick, and I immediately used it to print out some word documents as well as photos. The photos are excellent quality and I am more than happy with them. Excluding the cost of the printer, kodak estimate the cost of each photo to be roughly 7p when you buy the photo packs (ink and paper) and I am more than happy with this too, I think its excellent value for money as I don't always print out many photos and its really handy to have a good quality printer to hand when I do need one or two.
I have had some trouble with the software more recently, the update would not install on my laptop and took me a few hours to fix, however this is the only problem I've had in a year so I can't really complain. I've only had to buy about four of each ink in this year, and I have been printing quite a lot of standard word documents, as well as printing about 200 photos for a friends photo album.
Overall I think the initial outlay is worth it, I would definitely buy this printer at £70 if I had to purchase a new one now, the low cost of the ink definitely makes it worth while spending that bit more on the printer in the first place.

Summary: Definitely worth it, esp if you use your printer a lot
